A bike, run & walk event to benefit the fight against Cancer, eat pie and have fun!

Volunteer , Sponsor and Vendor Opportunities:

• Event leaders: participant to lead group at beginning of each event; walk (2), 5k, 10k, bike rides (3)
• Vendor Manager; recruit and coordinate Pie & food vendors, Beer tent 
• Route Manager, print and place signs, mark streets, assign traffic monitors
• Clean-up crew (remove route signs afterward)
• Traffic Monitors: (16) people to monitor intersections, discourage vehicle traffic direct participants
• E&E manager, recruit groups to offer education & entertainment tents
• Memory tent manager, display photos of victims, survivors, the people were honoring.
• Entry form manager, data manager
• Print  Manager; maps, labels
• Corporate recruiter,  $ sponsors
• Map Packet advertisers
• Merchandise manager: Pieathlon & Livestrong stuff
• Scholarships for Dream Team & individuals
  Registration Manager shirt/sample/map/wrist band pick-up (plus 2 staff)
• Staff for packet prep and distribution
• PA system, DJ?
• Cheerleaders, at finish line to distribute yellow mardi-gras beads, “winner” stickers
• Sales tent manager,  Livestrong wrist bands, Pieathlon shirts….
• Medical facility promotions manager, work with hospitals, clinics
• School manager, recruit schools to promote and send teams to participate
• Volunteer coordinator
• Entertainment director
• Pharmaceutical Company coordinator, solicit grants, educational materials & donations
• Sag wagons, (3) drive pickup on each route (road portion).  Shuttle buses if needed
• Information-greeters
• Pie Judge
• Water Stand, hand out water, monitor traffic at 10K halfway point.

The Pieathlon is a recreational, self-timed (not competitive) event.

Bicyling magazine is giving us a zip-lock bag for each participant, great for coupons, samples promoting local businesses!

This event is hosted by a Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) fundraiser to raise funds for the LAF. This is not an official LAF-hosted event, but all proceeds benefit the LAF, Mercy Cancer Center, Ovarian Cancer Research, and the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
